Andrew’s spent the majority of his working life making things that move people.
Having Co-Created and Executive Produced late-night satire show Tonightly for ABC Comedy, constructing and overseeing the craziness of a daily comedy show from the ground up, he now helps great folks bring interesting and topical ideas to life.
The last few years before working with the ABC included developing, writing, producing and directing major TV projects for various networks and major production houses like Shine, Beyond, both here and abroad, as well as directing documentary films around the world from the Great Barrier Reef to Malawi.
Beginning at MTV contributing to shows like MTV Sports, and talent-producing The Lair, he went on to work with at Network Ten, producing over 1,350 radio commercials 85 Promos and numerous PSAs. After winning the Optus180 Project with Benedict Hardie, Ten gave him the opportunity to write and direct scripted comedy and drama in the form of Micro Nation and The Nurses, before being made Development Executive for the network.
After working with Shine to develop then talent produce SlideShow and other comedy projects, as Executive Producer of Ensemble, the production arm of IPG MediaBrands in Sydney, the challenge there was to apply the techniques and skills of televison-making to commercials and content.
Andrew also makes lots of ads and content, including one just recently choreographing 14 animals to perform in a 60s one-take. With a long list of credits producing and directing campaigns for clients like Mamamia, Westpac, Formula 1, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Opera Australia, Target and heaps of others, it’s all about the same thing: making difficult things in a fun way.
He’s also the Managing Director of Zedtown, a live zombie apocalypse experience for thousands at a time (yeah, it’s pretty fun) which has recently expanded from Australia into the USA, and beyond.
Andrew also teaches “Applied Storytelling” for the Australian Film Television School.
